Friends of Haselor Academy (FOHA) is a group of dedicated parents and supporters of Tudor Grange Primary Academy, Haselor.  Throughout the academic year we host a range of events for pupils, families and the local community with the aim of enriching school life and raising funds.  With our help the Academy is able to purchase additional resources to further enhance the school environment and learning opportunities available.

All parents automatically become members of the Friends when their child joins the school.  It is an ideal opportunity to get to know what is happening at the school and to feel part of the school community.

Our Committee

As a registered charity our committee is made up of a group of dedicated volunteers as follows:

Chair:  Lucy Tremble

Treasurer: Gemma Pope

Secretary: Sarah Bambury

Teacher’s Representative: Gail Duxbury

Committee members: Parents from across all Key Stages

How can you find out more?

We hold a meeting at least once each half term.  The date, time and location will be on the noticeboard at the entrance to the school grounds and in the school newsletter. Socially we get together for regular Mums’ Nights Out, and Dads’ Nights Out are popular too.

We often contribute important information and news about events in the school newsletter which is emailed to all parents every week.

Our Facebook page is www.facebook.com/FriendsOfHaselor

… and, of course, look on the school website or Twitter feed.

What do we organise?

The amazing, revamped EYFS outdoor learning area

From the big annual fundraisers like the Friends and Parents Barbecue and Summer Fayre to term-specific events such as the Halloween Disco, Breakfast with Santa, Easter Egg Hunt, The Great Haselor Bake-off and Haselor’s Got Talent, the Friends can always guarantee there’s plenty to keep everyone entertained. In addition, we host regular film nights, gift-making and coffee mornings.

We also run a stall at Alcester’s Court Leet Street Market, raise money with the Round Table Christmas collection, and enjoy the generosity of local businesses who donate gifts and vouchers for our regular raffles and annual auction.

There’s lots of fun to be had either by helping directly, or just as importantly by coming along to enjoy and support events.

What have we raised money for?

Thanks to the Friends’ fundraising we have recently bought the following for our children to use in school:

  • 10 laptops
  • 4 iPads
  • 4 cameras
  • Classroom visualisers (projectors in non-techie speak)
  • Beebots floor robots for Early Years
  • New netball nets and bibs
  • Outdoor play sets, and a revamp for the EYFS outdoor learning area
  • Water world set for learning about forces
  • Six beanbags and a large square beanbag for indoor/outdoor use in book corners
  • Planters and plants around school
  • Leavers’ t-shirts
  • The magnificent tepee, largely funded from children and families taking part in a sponsored walk around Haselor. Many hands were needed  to get it upright and painted with a solid base!
